A Pyro Commons
A Pyro Commons: Communal Ovens and Vernacular Conviviality is piece commissioned by Sali e Tabacchi Journal for their issue La Via del Fuoco. The piece solidifies a broader theory and research around a Pyro Commons explored in past work and writing to various extents. In interrogating The Commons through the architectures and ecologies of communal/shared ovens (active and extant), methods of extractive enclosure are exposed through a celebration of these ovens as inverse sites of longstanding and convivial resistance.
