I finally managed to photograph the book I've been putting together while here in paris!
Some photos, some illiustrations, and even a recipe. All about my local market just over the river in the 16e. It hurt to leave it behind. I'll miss the man I bought dried dates from who managed to reccomend the perfect lentils for my dinner without a word of english between us. The fishmongers who proudly looked on as I sketched and eyed their wares all laid out in an elaborate mosaic of scales and ice. The locals I saw every week were no less integral to my mornings there.
The photos aren't exactly a substitute but they show a little bit of what I found so absolutely thrilling about the market.
Take a peek!
