MONOTYPES AND MISTY DAYS

The semester is finally over! I've been home for over a week, attempting a detox from the rhythm of school. It hasn't been the easiest transition, but I try to keep myself busy with work I actually enjoy. It has been fantastic to paint just for fun, no looming critique or professor reaction to worry about.

These pieces are actually a bit of a throwback then...all the way back to about two weeks ago! They are a small selection from my four week Drawing final, for which I elected to explore monotypes using landscapes as my primary source of inspiration. I ended up with a whole lot of these unexpected, misty, images of hills, houses and sky. I kind of dug the whole process, even when it went horribly wrong. I'm totally into indulging my inner printmaking major, hopefully next semester will be conducive to more of these little experiments...
